Taking a Hiatus #ROW80 Update

As the title suggests, my goals are pretty much fail. Things are a little crazy at Mocete Studios and because of that, I’m taking on a second job. This will, unfortunately, occupy a huge chunk of my free time. And more unfortunate, my line of work doesn’t give me internet access, so the majority of my day, aside from eating and sleeping, will be unplugged.

Deciding to get the job, looking for the job and now preparing to start it, all include stress that hasn’t put me in the mood to be writerly. Even though it’s creative and fun to do, it requires thought, and these days I have enough I’m thinking about.

Reading, on the other hand, requires none of that kind of thinking and is very relaxing. I’ve been doing lots of that.

I know this post sounds like a total downer, but I’m actually very happy I got this job, it’ll solve a lot of problems. And once I get used to my new schedule, I’ll figure out how to fit work and writing together. For now, I’m putting myself on a blog/social media when I can type of schedule. So, I’ll be around.

  1. Best of luck to you Andrew. If anybody can figure it out and come powering through it is you. Keep your chin up, and as they say ‘Don’t let the bastards get you down.’

  2. Congratulations on the new job. Shame about the writing, but I know what you mean, sometimes when there is so much else going on in your head/life you just can’t get into it. I’m sure once you are settled you will get back into the swing 🙂 Good luck

  3. I’m in a similar boat so completely understand. Best of luck with the new job!

  4. Andrew, sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do, you know? You’re young, you have your whole life ahead of you, so you have time to do all kinds of things. We’ll see you around, and you can always shoot me an email if you want to. Maybe when things settle down, you can get back to the writing. Right now, I think it would be way too much stress for you. Take care of yourself!

  5. Congratulations, good luck and good skill.
Post when you can, we’ll wait…

  6. Good luck with the new job. We will miss you but will gladly take what we can get. Keep reading….read some for me. I need more time to read. 🙂
