My Goal: Finish revising my friggin’ book already!
The road to my goal: 250-500 words on workdays and 500-1000 on my days off.
The day before the ROW80 kick-off I had a very draining day of work. I got home and vegged, thinking this was my last day to slack before round two. I had my nice schedule all set to go and then that mother flower, Murphy and his laws struck. He broke the machine I used at work, which put me behind with everything.
When I finally got home, the urge to veg came on strong. I needed a stress reliever and while writing fits the bill, it does require thought. TV, on the other hand, could be a mindless stress reliever. It was tempting. My DVR had plenty to entertain me with.
But . . .
I resisted, opened up my computer and wrote. 500 words on Monday and another 500 on Tuesday.
That’s what I’m talking about. Suck it, Murphy!
Info stuff- Follow my ROW80 progress every Wednesday and Sunday and be here Tuesdays and Thursdays for new posts on me, writing, superheroes, monsters, comics and any other geeky stuff on my mind.
My DVR is not working, and I haven’t called A&T yet for a reason. Keep going, I want to read it. 🙂
By the way, you are planning on publishing the traditional way or self publishing?
I will be self-publishing. For the way I want to work, the benefits are numerous.
Good job resisting and getting those words written. The dvr will still be there when you are done. We have lots to distract us with on our dvr as well. Know the feeling.
It’s TV’s fault for being so entertaining.
You have more self-control than I do!
Let’s wait for a few more updates and see if I can maintain. Discipline is hard!
You’re awesome! Go you!! Can I beta read?
Thanks! And sure!
Good for you for conquering old Murphy, I know how difficult writing is when you’re exhausted so a double yay.
I know I haven’t seen the last of him, but now he knows what he’s up against.
Yeah, Murphy. You failed! 🙂
Andrew’s going to be a bestseller on his first day published, everyone wants to read his book already. 😀
Great start to ROW80 round 2, well done to you.
Bestseller on the first day? Do you know something I don’t? If that happens I’ll have get a on a plane to personally thank you.
Love it! Making Lemonade is genious! When life gives you lemons….
Thanks, Tiffany!
Way to go, Andrew! You’re rocking!
Murphy attacked me, too. When you read my post, you’ll see that my trusty laptop is sick and had to be hospitalized. 😦
Uh oh.
Suck it indeed, Murphy baby! XD
Glad to read you’re back on top. 😉
Thanks, CM. This round, I want to keep it that way.
Well done! That’s the difference between children and adults: the abilty to do the things we need to do before we do the things we want to do.
Ah, the good old days.
I’m trying to work on a reward system. Right now, I’m eating ice cream because I made my word count. Mmm.
go you!! you kicked murphy where it hurt. HUZZAH!
He’s lucky I wasn’t wearing boots.
I love when people spit in the eye of Murphy and live to tell the tale. Good on you, Andrew!
Thanks, SJ! I think I made him shed a tear. Ha!
Wow. Murphy’s sniveling on the floor over here because you kicked him so hard. I’m just kinda laughing at him. It’s amusing. Sadistic? Nah.
Well done on your words thus far! Good SHOW, sir.
Thanks! Laughing at him is the only way he’ll learn. *Balls up fists* I’m eager to give more lessons.
Hi Andrew! Just hoppin’ by. Congrats and welcome to self-pub! I think you’ll love it. I also wanted to invite you to join my “Get Murphy” hit squad. Jerk sent a tornado to my house on the very first day. I’ve managed to write a couple of paragraphs since then. But I will whip that WIP! And Murphy (and his little dog) too….
Thanks! I do!
If we’re going to have a hit squad, we need arm bands or buttons or someway to recognize other members. And a secret handshake. I’ve been dying for an excuse to make one up.
hahaha Careful about taunting Murphy, he has ways of retaliating that aren’t pleasant 😦 lol Good work on the progress though, it’s especially hard to write when all you want to do is relax.
Thanks! Now that I proved I can get through it, the next time should be easier
