Keeping it Brief #ROW80 Update

My Goal: 1 hour, but minimum 30min of writing fiction during workdays and 2 hours any day I’m not working.

Still working on how I want to restructure my ROW80 goals for the next round.  Got a good chunk of writing done, so happy about that.  Otherwise, pretty uneventful here at Mocete Studios.  I’m sure the other ROW80ers have more interesting things to say.  ‘Til next time!

Info stuff- Follow my ROW80 progress every Wednesday and Sunday and be here Tuesdays and Thursdays for new posts on me, writing, superheroes, monsters, comics and any other geeky stuff on my mind.

  1. I gotta do the same thing, set up a schedule for myself regarding the re-writes of From Parts Unknown. If I don’t do that, then it’s gonna take months just to fix the holes in the latest draft…

    • Hey George! How’s everything been going?

You might want to sign up for the next round of ROW80. It’s got a way of bringing to light what you need to work on in order to be a better writer. And you get the best support system around.

  2. Just keep plugging away, Andrew. 🙂

  3. Maybe you might want to include some reading time into your goals? Going back and rereading the last few pages can really help your productivity.

  4. My goals were pretty similar this round and I think I am going to have to adjust as well for the next round of ROW 80.

    • I’ve got big plans for round two. I’ll be laying out where I think I went wrong in round one for the next update. I hope your adjustments help as much as I think mine will.

  5. I’m also setting up for the next round. Got a lot done this time, but not nearly what I expected. See ya in round 2!

  6. Are you always first in the line-up? lol Great job. Your commitment is inspiring. 🙂

For the next round, I’m going to put my current WIP aside (I’ll need a break from it) and finish editing my draft from last year’s NaNoWriMo. I’m already super excited. 🙂

    • Haha, yes. I work weekends, so I’m up right around when Kait posts the linky. Otherwise I’d be asleep like you lucky dogs!

I’m excited for round two as well. I’m ready to push myself harder to accomplish what I know I’m capable of.

      Thanks for the compliment too.

  7. Keep up the work my friend. I know you can do it, if anyone can. Looking forward to you killing it.

  8. Short but sweet, hmm? I can’t believe it’s almost over!

  9. I think you set yourself quite realistic goals – I shall have to follow suite next round I reckon! All the best

  10. You’re really smart to keep a schedule. I didn’t have much problem with this until I started promoting my first book, editing my second, and composing my third. I’m organising a blog tour, filling in interview forms, sending out ARCs for review…

All I want to do is WRITE, but that’s just not reality for authors these days. Maybe when I’m a bazillionaire (ha!) I can hire an assistant.

    • Thanks India. I may have been fighting it subconsciously, but if I want to make this into a career, I’ve got to become highly organized. Because I’m not even at the point you’re at and I already feel like there’s so much to do. Most of the time it’s exciting, but like you, JUST writing would be perfect. An assistant. It would be nice to say, “Yes, I’m THAT busy. I need one of those.”.

  11. I’ll be interested to see what your second round goals are. Mine are going to be close to the same, and I hope nothing major happens in my life this time around. 😦
