Arms Raised in a V ROW80 Update

My Goal: 1 hour, but minimum 30min of writing fiction during workdays and 2 hours any day I’m not working.

So all those thoughts bubbling up in my head finally burst out for one of my best writing sessions yet!  Between Thursday and Friday, I cranked out 2000 GOOD words and wrapped up the scene giving me all those problems.  Funny thing, now that it’s written, I can’t believe a lil’ ol’ scene like that became such an issue.  Not sure how much time I actually wrote though.  I guess I got so wrapped up in the writing, I never checked.

And in non-goal related news, I’m a bit more ahead of schedule with my blogging.  Not as much as I wanted, but I’ve definitely made it so I can do more fiction writing after work and less blog writing in the wee hours when I’m about to pass out.

Well, that’s about it.  Seems I’m more verbose when I have a bad week.

Here’s your linky.

Info Stuff- Follow my ROW80 progress every Wednesday and Sunday and for the month of February, Tuesdays and Thursdays will be devoted to my Love series.  Eight loves that have shaped me into the writer I am.

And this Monday February 7th, I’ll be having my first guest blogger, Amy Rose Davis.

  1. Congratulations to you, I’m glad you got that scene sorted.

  2. Woohoo, congratulations on the word sprint. I’m starting to feel good about my story as well.

  3. I had a similar problem. I had a scene that just had too many characters in it (a party) and I just couldn’t get past writing the scene because it was too overwhelming for me (for some reason, it there’s more than 5 people in a scene I panic), but I managed to find a way around it and then managed to write 2,000 non-stop!

  4. Go you! I’m happy you had a good week, it was definitely your turn to receive one! I’m at the, “I can’t possibly write this impossible scene,” part in both of WIP’s. Silly. I’ll take a cue from you and just write on through it!
    Good luck this week!

  5. Congrats! Im sure it feels good to have gotten that scene the way you want it. This week can only be better. Write on! 🙂

  6. @everyone

I found myself saying about the same thing in every reply, so I decided to thank you all HERE for your support. It keeps me motivated to push myself so I have something positive share every update. ROW80ers kick all the other writing challenges square in the tuchas! Go team!

  7. getting a difficult scene straight is so satisfying and yet as you say looking back- how come it was such a problem? -well done

  8. Hooray! Congrats on the awesome word count and on getting that troublesome scene figured out! You must be feeling great. 😀

  9. Fantastic word count! I’m jealous. Life has gotten in the way, and I’m ruthlessly elbowing right back out. Oy.

    Congrats on a good week!
