THIS . . . is the ROW80 Update

Now the read the title again and imagine Ryan Seacrest saying it.  Cool right?.

My Goal: 1 hour, but minimum 30min of writing fiction during workdays and 2 hours any day I’m not working.

So not too much to report on the writing front.  Goals were met and I plan to make the Tuesday one after this update is scheduled.  I did manage to get out of slump I was in thanks to Susan Bischoff’s mega awesome post  . . . Nor Do I Play One On TV.  Really puts into perspective the “write what you know” thing or as Claire Legrand put it in the comments, “write what you’ve known“.  Highly recommend.

I was disappointed in my sponsor fail this week.  This afternoon, less than twenty-four hours before the next update, I was reading and commenting where I felt I had something to add.  Sorry guys.  I’m not ignoring you.  I’ll try to do better this time around because I’m very appreciative of everyone taking the time to read MY updates and commenting.

There you go, short and sweet.  And for your hopping convenience . . . the linky.

Follow my ROW80 progress every Wednesday and Sunday and be here Tuesdays and Thursdays for new posts on me, writing, superheroes, monsters, comics and any other geeky stuff on my mind.

Also this Friday on a very special edition of me, I’ll be reviewing a short story by Draven Ames called The Nothingness.  If you want to read it before the review, just click the story title.

  1. Sounds like you’re doing great! 🙂

  2. Good going. Susan post was great as Nora is an all time favorite of mine and it was also very encouraging.

  3. Good stuff – I slacked on the visits last week too, good thing this challenge is so forgiving. 😉

  4. Great that you are meeting your goals. Funny how some people set hour goals and some set word-count goals. If I went by hour goals, (like I used to) at the end of an hour I might have a couple mangled sentences. XD

    • Well sometimes my writing sessions don’t produce much. My aim was to get on a regular schedule more than set a word count. Through NaNoWriMo, I proved to myself I could stick to a word count, but it was all crap and I’m rewriting everything. Now after I write, some days it’s pages and others a few sentences, but I see much better quality. I hope this eventually makes me into a faster writer. Until then, I shall putter along at my measly pace. 🙂

  5. As Susan said, thanks for the linky! 🙂

Congrats on the continued progress! An hour a day (two on non-workdays) is an AWESOME goal, and I hope it’s leading to great productivity for you. 🙂

  6. I’m glad you’re out of your slump. It sounds like things are going right along for you. Keep it up!
